Suggestions for Simstopia!

So basically we need to draw more people here, its like a resthome in her at the moment.

So lets hear you suggestions for the site, be as creative as you want. We need some crazy ideas to draw more people in.

Some which have been mentioned by members already are:
Competitions
Custom Content
Worlds

Im thinking we should also add a role playing forum.

Ideas please ...

Role-Playing Forum would work well, I think, since people were talking around the officials about it yesterday.

We could also possibly have some people post the legacies and stories on here exclusively. (it would generate at least some traffic, and some people may want to join to comment and stuff)

I think it'd be a good idea to have exclusive content like Sam said. For the admin/mods to decide on a simmer and ask them to create something that is only available to d/l through this site. Could be sims/houses/etc or even cc if there are people aroudn that can create it.
Same goes for legacies etc too!

Also comps would be a good idea.

Perhaps more Advertising? I'll be willing to put the banner in my siggy on the Officials. Saying that, I'm not in a very good position at the moment there, so maybe people will hold off

Competitions are a good idea too. I know a lot of people do modelling competitions so on so forth.

But as Brad said, it's hard to create stuff when no one's around to view them.

Likewise Brad. I haven't seen you on the Forums of late, and I envy you. Summer has just started for me (well, one exam left tomorrow) and I can't get off the officials. Sometimes I just wait until someone posts. It's so quiet at 9am.

Anyway. I'll be willing to put the banner in my siggy. I see Maddie has it already.

ETA: and I'm at the CAW Forum frequently, and many, many people go down there looking for worlds. I mean like a ton each day. It's rather strange. Anyway, I think if I make a world, and make the download link here specifically, more people will come. IT'd have to be a good world though... I see what Brad is saying. MY suggestion isn't the best, but perhaps trying something like it to drag people over here?

All of theses are great ideas, conor i really like your idea for the CAW(i have seen yours they are rather pretty ) also i think we should make some building contests they are always fun and would attract alot of people! i would be willing to help sponsor the contests, if you guys would like to do them

It does seem a little 'cold' luring people here with comps and modelling stuff... but business is cold and cruel.

I agree that the best way is to make a good, positive impact on the Officials, and to carry around the banner. I like the idea of making the creations exclusive to Simstopia, too. Brunette makes some lovely lots, you, Brad and Chatter and Anne lovely sims, and plenty of others here make fabulous creations. We all have the talents and ideas to make this place great, so let's try

I'm currently making a world, a small island. It is for the Base game and Gen only, which, I feel, is good at the moment as some people like smaller worlds, and expansion pack specifics. It's just done, just some lots left, and I'll make it exclusive to Simstopia. I'll make a thread about it at CAW, register it at the World Index and link it ALL back to here.

Oh, Chatter, I've been thinking about this since last night. It ties with the exclusive creations that could be included to Simstopia. Maybe an exchange-type thing? But, unlike the official exchange, it'll be safe? That was it'll attract more people? And you can, obviously, only upload if you register? Idk... might seem stupid.

Hmm. Perhaps just make 'sections' for lots, sims, and, err, worlds? I mean, patterns, recoloured objects etc don't essentially matter, do they? Or maybe that's just me. OH! And maybe a 'section' where CC creators - like Brad - could upload and show their creations.

Maybe something simple like a thread with mediafire links.. I dunno. But for admins/mods/volunteers to scan everything through custard before showing it on the site to check it's safe?

I also think the roleplaying is an amazing idea.. maybe advertise the game on the officials and see if there's any interest? (post a bit of info or a teaser about it, then if they want to play they'll have to register etc)
Advertise it in blogs as well etc. I'm sure simmers will be interested in it so it's a good way to get more people to join!

I have 3 sims that I'm working on too, I could make them exclusive to here, but I'll have to work out how to use mediafire or megupload etc, and also check if people like the sims first!

Cat - mediafire is SINCH to use. I've only used it for my worlds, but I have used it quite a bit. It's free, obviously, and as I said, it's easy to use and quick, but maybe Chatter or someone else could make a mediafire tutorial for people who get.... confused Ah yes, I believe the key is to advertise hugely. Sure looky - Yorkchop and Amaholus joined because they saw the banner in my siggy. So yes, I think advertising the site in blogs will help massively too!

Chatter - oh wow... that was fast And it's GREAT! Seriously! The whole settup is easily and convenient to use and showing more pictures insures a greater insight into the thing your downloading. This place is really coming together now! I will upload my "Ebony Strand" world as soon as I can, as I'm not on my sims computer now and mightn't be for the next few days. Also, that world I was talking about that wil be exclusive to Simstopia is almost complete. As I said, I'll 'advertise' it on the Officals, but plant the download link specifically here. I'm getting rather excited now

Oh, and perhaps tell the others here about the exchange as well? I mean, when you mentioned it was up, it took me a few mins to find it. Just sayin'.

well, I was thinking lifetime site rewards! Here are my ideas for the rewards:

The Next Big Thing- You get have your own section about anything you want to have!
Entrepreneurial Mindset- You are automatically moved on to the next rate (like if you are technophobe, you move on to Shy/if you are Charismatic, you move on to Star Quality)
My Best Friend- You get to have a "best friend" in the site! Just pick a person who are "Friends with" in the site, and you can make them your best friend!
Professional Simoleon Booster- You can gain points twice as faster than a person who does not have this!

a couple more ideas:

Complimentary Entertainment- With this, you get to pick a movie you want us to watch on the chat, and we will watch it!

Also, we could do a lottery-type thing!
