Surprise!!!! Check the edit...
Her name is Zoey and she is 2 years old.
We just brought her home on Saturday.
Edit:
Jake
2 dogs (Jake is a big boy too--95Ibs, and stocky), and 6 chicks (that are getting big fast)
And that is IT for the animals!

Re: Surprise!!!! Check the edit...
She seems very happy. She was a rescue dog. She was abandoned (I think) by her previous owners and chained up in a trailer with little to no food or water. The people who rescued her put an ad up, once she had a clean bill of health from the vet, for her to be adopted out and we were lucky enough to be the first one to answer the ad. She is a great dog. A little skittish around certain things, and hates (with a passion) the lawn mower (so much so we think she may have been teased/tortured with a lawn mower--she will just attack it viciously, but only once the engine turns on, so she needs to be kept in the house when my bf mows the lawn), but she is a very mild mannered dog. She loves to cuddle, and will cuddle with me on the bed when I'm watching movies on the laptop (and in the morning once bf has gone to work). We gave her her own chair, an old recliner that was up in the attic, for her to sleep on (we don't want her up on our couch or nice recliner) and she loves it (the husband and wife that rescued her allowed her to sleep on their recliner, so instead of breaking her of that habit we decided to compromise with her lol). Loves toys....specifically a beanie baby horse that my daughter has (which I won't let her have).
This one
No matter where I put that horse in the house, she finds it.
She lived on a farm with 13 or 14 other dogs before coming to live with us, yet is terrified of small dogs (specifically--mini schnauzer's) and will hide behind me if she see's one.
She is very good with my 2 1/2 year old daughter, who loves to grab her tail/ears/paws...for a dog that was abused...she is very accepting of her doing these things to her--which shocked me (even though the people had told us that they knew she didn't care if you held her tail/ears/paws), but that doesn't mean that I want my DD to do that to her. I keep telling my DD , "Zoey is a nice doggy, so be nice to her and don't pull or hurt her".
I think my new "sounding like a broken record" is:
Daughter...
*don't pull Zoey's ears
*don't grab her tail
* don't get in her face
* don't hit her
*be nice to her
* leave her alone she's trying to sleep
(and my favorite)*don't put stickers on the dog!!! (which Zoey manages to get off herself and then eat them.... )

Re: Surprise!!!! Check the edit...
She has a bad habit of jumping on people when she gets excited. She's jumped on me, but only scratched me (still got scolded for it), and last night she jumped up on my bf. Her jumping on my bf was really bad...she left a 3 inch deep scratch on his arm (she drew blood--vet says her nails are good/normal length advised us not to trim then any more right now), so we have been teaching her to not jump up on people. She also has a habit of getting way too excited when she see's one of us with her leash...so much so that it's a fight to get it clipped on her collar. So we're also teaching her to be calm when putting on her leash...which she did really well with last night.
Even though I'm extremely not happy that she drew blood on my bf, we're both really happy it wasn't done on our 2 year old. Had it happened to our daughter...the dog would be in BIG trouble--bigger than she was when she jumped on my bf.

We didn't name him. That was the name his previous owners gave him.

Actually the barn cats have left.
We can't have cats, Tina...we're both allergic.

Nice dog
I'd don't think I could handle a big dog like that, though
I like small dogs like Daschounds
