The joke is that women are obsessed with shoes and go crazy when there is a pair of shoes they want...especially if there is only one pair that 2 women want. It's the "ultimate chick flick" because, they are stereotyping that women love shoes and will fight over them.

Look at it as if these two were in a shoe store and the ruby slippers were the last pair that both of them wanted. Dorothy got them, and the witch (coming in late) is trying to take them from her, and because the witch wants them so badly...she will do anything to get them from Dorothy.
